During our visit to the Noah's Ark Church(also known as the Church of the Sky), Mr. Itami explained that one of the themes of this work was "how architecture can dynamically capture the ever-changing sky unique to the island." Even just the way the sunlight reflected off the church gave us a sense of unity with the blue sky. |

On the afternoon of September 26, 2013
, the greatest image and philosophy behind the design of the PINX Members Clubhouse The large glass surfaces that open up to the sky seemed to be an awareness of integration not only with the earth but also with the sky.

I visited three museums located in luxury condominiums, offering tranquil spaces. These museums are themed around "water," "wind," and "stone," set against a natural backdrop. The
Water Museum
was a space enclosed on all four sides by concrete, filled with water, and without a roof, allowing visitors to look up at the vast sky. I heard that the moon reflected on the water's surface on a moonlit night is also incredibly beautiful.
|

|
From the outside, the Museum of Wind
looks like a wooden building with small gaps of about 10 mm between the planks, but from the inside, the gaps appear much larger.
Because of this, when I entered the building alone, I truly felt the wind in that space.

The stone museum
, a building made of rusted iron plates, stood in the midst of nature, appearing more like an art object than a structure.
Furthermore, unlike the two museums mentioned above, the connection between the building and the stone was not clear. |

After lunch, I visited Lotte Art Villas
(related site Hotters.com) . Various types of resort homes were being built. I think some of them probably had construction costs exceeding 2 million yen per square meter. I was somewhat interested in the level of quality I don't usually encounter.

Lee Yul -jong Museum of Art is
a museum dedicated to the painter Lee Yul-jong.
It is located in Seogwipo City, Jeju Province, and measures
15m in height
and 992m2 in area.
. The museum itself was enjoyable as architecture, but the artwork was even more captivating. It reminded me of the Tahitian painter Gauguin. No, his style is far more free than Gauguin's, and if he had lived his life according to that style, I would be incredibly envious.

I participated in the JIA Kinki Branch Housing Committee's architectural study tour to Jeju Island.
Jeju Island is famous as a tourist destination even in Japan. For me, it's also an island I rediscovered through the Korean drama "Dae Jang Geum."
As an island formed by volcanic activity, I saw a stone culture there, and I felt the architectural differences from Japan. This trip, which began with a visit to the works of architect Jun Itami, was a very meaningful experience for me.
